Thoughts

Scott was my son. His passing has left a hole so large, words cannot express how hollow I feel. I know he loved karate and he took a keen interest in it. His wish was to gain his black belt, he was so close to gaining it, just a couple of months off. He was honoured with it at his funeral. I would have loved to have seen his face when he was presented with it. I know he would have been so proud. Scott, we are ALL so proud of you. We are proud of everything you became. You gave 100% in everything you ever did. I couldn't have wished for a better son.

Cobra has lost its very own gentle giant. The loss of Scott “Goliath” Fairclough has left a massive void in Altrincham and Timperley class. 💜 I will miss him thinking he was in trouble if I called him by his actual name, rather than Goliath 😞 💜 I will miss the solid barometer used by all students in practical karate sessions of “Ahhhh…BUT would this work on Goliath?!” 💪🏼 💜 I will miss the binge watching banter and his relentless obsession with dissecting the Cobra Kai series on Netflix (Hasbrown send it to the internet!! 😆 🐍 ) 💜 I will miss barking instructions from the front of the class…then scooting to the back line to make sure he’d banked it. 👊🏼 💜 I will miss his unwavering support of the club, his love of training and his infectious giddiness when he found out in-person classes were resuming after lockdown. Rest easy, Goliath. Thanks for your genuine passion and choosing Cobra as your club. You were as good for my head as we were for yours. “How tall are you?!” 🥋💜💔 #thefamilyyouchoose #RoomOnMyBelt
